Jones Shakes

We are closed for the season. See you Memorial Day 2024!

The Coolest Summer Job Ever!

If you’re interested in learning how to handcraft a delicious shake and would love to sell happiness all summer, just fill out this form.

About Us

First, a little about working at Jones. We operate as a season, a lot like a sports team. That means, we try to have the team figured out before we open, and have the team stick with us all season. We also try to keep our team size small enough to give all workers enough hours. After all, isn’t work about earning income and having fun while you’re at it?
We do whatever we can to make working at Jones enjoyable and a good learning experience. High school and college students get opportunities to learn more than the fast food trade. Inventory management, accounting, software engineering, and other valuable education opportunities are available to Jones team members.
If you don’t think that your schedule or commitment level would work with the Jones approach, we understand. Working at Jones isn’t for everybody. But if it sounds like a place that you can learn, grow, and flourish, fill this form out. We’d love to hear from you!
New and returning employees need to complete the application below, each season. Returning crew – no need to fill out work history though.

Important Guidelines

What about summer vacations?
You’ll need to supply your family’s vacation schedule for us to review. Most workers take a week off at some point, but it needs to be a good fit to the team schedule.

Crucial dates.

Memorial Day, Father’s Day, Independence Day week, end of summer weekends.

2025: May 16-17, May 23-26, August 22-September 1. The beginning and end of the season is busy here at Jones. If you have commitments that prevent you from working these times, such as the final two weekends (Friday night through the weekend), even really good commitments (like sports or volunteering), your application might not be considered. We just need team members who can be here at our busiest times. It’s simple math.

Sports and Camps
Congratulations if you participate in one or more team sports, and/or musical, academic, or athletic camps! We think these are great activities for people to get involved in. However, this is the inevitable conversation we have with team members who are in these programs.

Team member:
I can’t work on that date because of practice.

Jones:
But you’re already scheduled for work.

Team member:
I can’t work that weekend because of sports practice.

Jones:
But we hired you for the summer. This is the summer.

Team member:
I don’t know when practice will be, I’m waiting to hear from the coach.

Unfortunately, we can’t play second-important to your activities. So if you expect your sport or camp activities to have these kinds of last-minute, job-conflicting, or unpredictable schedule demands, it’s probably best to let other people work at Jones.

Second jobs
We’ve had team members who hold a job elsewhere. Frankly, we’re impressed that you want to pack your schedule with work! It can work out – but sometimes it’s difficult. Let us know what your other job’s commitments are like, so that we can best check your schedule fit.  If your other job runs your schedule and could cause conflicts or rearrangements of your Jones schedule, that’s usually a sign that it won’t work.

We know this is a pain, but we really need to know when you can work and when you can't. Our goal is to commit to you for a season, and we need to know how your schedule works for that. Keep the following in mind: school schedules, extracurricular events, athletics, cheerleading, vacation, camp, and college. If you're not sure, please check before filling this out, so that you can commit to these dates. If you aren't sure of your extracurricular schedule, do not check any days in which you may have a schedule conflict. Please check each day available to work next season:

    Tell us about your availability.

Are you leaving town this summer? When and for how long?

Date you leave for College (if applicable):

    Do you have reliable transportation?

Have you every been arrested before?

Any history of illegal drugs or alcohol abuse?

    List your extracurricular involvement:

How many hours would you like to work per week?

Will these activities affect your availability?

Are you available for employee orientation the evenings of May 19-20? (Hint: this is important)

Please note that if you need more than five days off during the summer, it puts you at a hiring disadvantage. With a small and talented crew, we need availability and reliability more than anything else.
